Ah, the joys of motherhood.

Well. I went upstairs today to lay Kenna down for a nap. Got her all snug and settled. Then came downstairs about 20 minutes later to find this....

Yes, that is the kitchen floor. Yes, those little pebbles are dog food. And yes, Gavin is responsible. Not only did he dump the whole container of dog food all over the kitchen floor; He then proceeded to lay on the floor and roll around in the mess he made. He is now covered in that disgusting dog food smell with little pebbles stuck to his body. Ah, the joys of motherhood.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It's been raining for the past 3 days, non stop. The power went out Friday night for a few hours, I thought Gav would be driving me crazy but instead he found a jumbo flashlight and had a blast running around the house with it!

Even though its been pouring over here lately, I still did my usual running around this weekend. Yesterday, the My Gym in Frisco had an open house so I took Gav for a while. They had a trampoline, a gymnastics bar, a ball pit, and a bunch of other cool stuff for the kids to play with. Gav absolutley loved it. There was music blaring and kids running around everywhere, of course Gav loved it... Thats his style. LOUD AND CHAOTIC :) Anyway I signed him up for classes. He starts this Tuesday and goes every week for an hour long structured class with other kids his age. And they also have what they call "free play" for an hour everyday where the kids that are enrolled in class can come and do whatever they want. I think it will be good for Gav to do something on his own. His class is an independent class so I will have an hour to myself everyday and he will have an hour with other kids. He is around way too many adults right now. He also got to meet Elmo at the open house and get his picture taken with him....

Football, Soccer, Basketball, right??

Do all boys have the dirtiest fingernails in the world, or is it just mine? I must clip his nails every week and they grow back faster every time. It's like the longer they get, the more dirt he collects under them. I mean, you would think he builds dirt castles all day or something. And I swear he washes his hands. But if you saw his hands, you would think I am lying. By the way, its Gavin we're talking about here... Not Kris.

So last night, Kris grabs the fingernail clippers and starts clipping Gav's nails. Gav does his usual and covers his eyes with his other hand. He must think the clippers are going to attack him or something. Then once Kris is done clipping his nails, Gav looks at them really hard for a second and goes... "I don't want these nails." Kris and I look over at each other like, what is he talking about? So we ask him... You want them shorter? He proceeds to tell us that he wants "blue nails." He wants blue nail polish to paint them with.

Kris goes "Gav, only girls paint their fingernails. You're a boy. Don't you want to play football and soccer when you get bigger? You don't want to paint your nails." Hahaha I burst out laughing. I love my boys. They are very amusing.

Gav's Pool

Mmm, the house smells delicious. I've got the brisket in the crock pot, it makes the house smell so yummy!

As for last nights dinner... I'm not sure I would make it again. The chicken was okay, but had a very strong flavor, almost too strong. We definitely did not need to use the extra sauce on it. The noodles were good but needed more flavor. So Kris and I mixed our chicken with our noodles and it kind of evened itself out. But still, I don't think I would make it again.

The chimichangas that I am making tonight, I have made before. They are very good and one of Kris' favorite dinners. But tonight I am trying them with brisket instead of round roast. I'm sure they will be just as good. It's the combination of seasonings that makes the meat so yummy!

After I finished my post yesterday, Kris and I got Gav's pirate ship pool out and blew it up for him. We literally had to blow it up ourselves because the pump we have was not working. Gav loved it though. Here are the pictures, and a video of him. The pool has a little "water gun" that you hook up to the water hose... You have to see the pictures to really understand how much Gavin loved it. I have a feeling I'll be getting that pool out every day for him to play in.

I'm trying to keep up!

Every Sunday morning, Gavin gets up, immediately asks for sausage, biscuits, and coffee, then runs over to the front door, opens it up and grabs the Sunday newspaper. He is like an old man, with his coffee and Sunday paper! I will have to get a picture one of these days. Anyway, he loves looking through the advertisements in the paper, all the store catalogues and what not. He especially loves looking at the Toys R Us ad. I usually grab the coupons and start my clipping. Well, Gav spotted the Chuck E Cheese coupons on the back of my coupon booklet and of course demanded we go right away. So I told him to put the coupons on the fridge and we might go this week. Needless to say he woke up Monday morning and as soon as he heard me ask Kris "What are we going to do today?" He starts asking about Chuck E Cheese and telling us he has coupons to use! So off to Chuck E Cheese we went! He had a blast and I got some good pictures of him while we were there. I also got a short video of him in the car; On the way home from Chuck E Cheese, Kris stopped at the movie trading company and Gav and Kenna and I waited in the car. We got bored and I started taking pictures of Gavin and also recorded a small video of him. So be sure to check out my flickr account.

Well we had our baked tilapia and broccoli last night. It was deeee-licous, as it always is. I have my own recipe for the tilapia, we get it fresh from Market Streets and I bread it in panko bread crumbs and make a white wine, lemon, butter sauce to drizzle over it... Yummy! I could eat that every night of the week, and surprisingly Gavin has started eating fish with us! We've been having a lot of fish and chicken lately. Since Kris is on his "get-fit plan" we haven't been eating much red meat, except for the once a week when we go out for burgers.

Granny Mam came over for a little visit today. We went out to The Shops at Legacy to show her where Kris is working. The home theatre store he's working at is like his little playground. He is obsessed with a pair of $14,000 speakers there that he says he is going to own one day. So every chance he gets to show them off, he takes. While we were over there, we decided to have lunch at a place called Gordon Biersch. It is a restaurant brewery with delicious food! We started off with the crab and artichoke dip which was amazing!! Sooo yummy! Then I had the grilled chicken and avocado sandwich (as did Granny Mam), which comes with their famous garlic fries. Kris and Gavin both had burgers, which they said were delicious. Everything was so good, we are definitely going to go back! And if you haven't been, I definitely recommend you try it!

Kenna was up almost the entire day yesterday! I thought I was going to lose my mind! She usually wakes up for two hours, takes a three hour nap, gets up for another two hours, and naps for another three. Well yesterday was a different story. She slept for maybe an hour throughout the whole day! Finally around 10pm last night, Kris got her to go to sleep. She ended up sleeping until 6:30am, woke up to eat, then passed right back out until 10am! I couldn't believe she slept so well! I woke up about 3 times in the middle of the night to make sure she was still breathing since she usually wakes me up 2-3 times during the night to eat. I wish she slept like that every night, but I definitely want her to keep taking her naps throughout the day.

Well this is a longer entry than normal so I will leave it at that. But don't forget to check out the new pictures and video I posted :)
