This Weeks Meal Plan

Every day, I wake up thinking "What are we going to have for dinner tonight?" Then after contemplating almost all day long, I finally decide on something and end up having to make a last minute trip to the grocery store to get the few things I am missing. I am putting an end to that right now. I have just set up a meal plan for the entire week so no more putting together dinner at the last minute.

I found a blog that I absolutely love and it is where I get most of my recipes from. They always taste great and are usually pretty healthy dishes. I have put the links below so you can try them too. So here is the plan for this week...

Monday - Baked Tilapia and Broccoli

Tuesday - Asian Chicken and Fried Rice (I'll be making noodles instead)

Wednesday - Chimichangas (I will be using brisket instead of a round roast because its what I have in the freezer)

Thursday - Baked Tilapia and Asparagus

Friday - Lemon Basil Chicken Breasts and Parmesan Roasted Potatoes

Now that I've got my grocery list for the week... I'm off to the store!

Giggles

As you all know, Kenna will be 12 weeks old on Tuesday. Time is just flying by! She has been smiling at us for weeks now and I have just been waiting for her first laugh. It happened this morning! She was sitting up (propped up with a pillow) on our bed, Kris was walking around the room getting ready for work and she would not take her eyes off of him. She just kept watching him walk around the bed. So he starts singing, clapping, and dancing around the room! I burst into laughter and Kenna has this HUGE smile on her face... I think it was the biggest smile I have ever seen her make. Then I hear this little giggle and I look over at her and she is laughing!!! It was probably the cutest thing I have ever seen. Of course after she giggled, Kris and I were trying to get her to do it again but she wasnt going to. So now I am eagerly waiting for another giggle out of her little mouth and once she starts really laughing I will try to get it on video.

I'm still a little jealous that Daddy was the first one to make her laugh.

Falling Behind...

Well here I go... Falling behind again. It is just so hard to keep up with a blog, FB, and myspace.... There are waaaaaaay too many social networking sites these days. Plus having two kiddos makes it that much more difficult.

Anyway, we went out to dinner at The Keg for Conner's 18th birthday last week. It was delicious and we had a good time. Cant believe the kid is already 18! I will post some pictures soon!

As for what is going on these days.... Kris is going on a health kick (yay for him!) to try to get back in shape. He has been running every morning (wish I had the willpower to get up early and go for a jog!) and eating much healthier lately! He is now looking into getting a gym membership so he can do more than just run everyday. I am just so incredibly tired by the end of every day that I cant even think about going to the gym! But I am so very proud of him for doing it. He has been doing a great job of staying on track! Now he just needs to quit smoking.

Back Track

Since I just created this blog and didn't have it last week, I want to back track a little.

I took Kenna to the Dr last Monday for her two month check up. She is now 10 lbs 11 oz! She is defiantly a growing girl. She was 6 lbs 4 oz at birth and 6 lbs 10 oz at two weeks. That means she gained 4 lbs in six weeks! I must be making some good stuff (I'm nursing). I couldn't believe how much she has grown. She is a healthy little girl, no concerns from the Dr. She got her set of shots the next day and did great! She cried for maybe 5 minutes and was over it. Then I took her to get her ears pierced the following day. Once again, she was a trooper and only cried for a bit. She is doing great now. I think she is becoming more of a Daddy's girl. Every time he talks to her she just smiles away. It's so cute :)

Gav is also doing great. Auntie got him some cool new "markers" last week from Target. They are used to draw on windows and mirrors only. They look and feel like wax and they wipe right off with a wet paper towel. He loves them. In fact, he completely destroyed the first set he got because he was using them so much. So Grandma Claire went to the store and bought him another pack. So that's what he is into right now. Drawing and coloring are his new favorite things to do. And I think he is finally out of the stage where he draws on everything except paper (the walls in this house are now artwork).

As for hubby, he is working at the Dallas location for his company right now which is like a 45 min drive to and from work everyday (not to mention its about $5 in tolls one way). And he just got news that they are moving him to the Plano location (yay!). No more tolls, and it cuts his driving time in half! I am pretty excited about it. As is he, he is hoping to boost sells in that area and is excited to show his boss that he can do it.

Now that we're caught up on last week... We can move forward in the next posts :)

Back To Blogging

Well, well, well... I think I have tried to keep up with my blog about 28387436928734 times now and for some reason or another I can never stay true to blogging. However, this time I am determined to keep at it. I love reading other Mom's blogs and want one of my own so I can look back and remember all the small things. Let me tell you, it is about the hardest thing EVER to make this blog look cute. I think I'm finally getting it though. If you're looking for a good place to get cute templates/backgrounds/banners etc. look here.... www.thecutestblogontheblock.com I have searched everywhere and this is the best site by far!
